Week Three, Term One

Our brain research is well under way! I have taught the children how to log into their google accounts and how to use google docs to record their brain information. I have set clear expectations on how they should use this, and for any parents concerned about them being online and using this, I have access to all of their accounts and are able to check up on them at any time:) I would also suggest if they are using it at home, you are privy to their password and get them to show you what they are working on. It's a good way to see what they are learning about too!

This week Room 14 has had many opportunities to extend their leadership skills as we have been able to buddy up with junior classes to teach them the skills that we know! We taught Room 8 how to make origami T shirts, and had a go at teaching Room 2 some swimming skills. When we teach others it helps cement what we know into place for ourselves!

In reading this week most reading groups focussed on being word detectives and learning skills that would help them decode the tricky words. This is something that we will keep looking at over the coming weeks. We have also written some fantastic simile poems and are in the process of publishing these.
